The World Will End but Fax Services will Remain
Fax Services September 15, 2015 Editorial Staff 0
The Xerox company has celebrated its 50th year of using the fax machine and looking back, it has already been 50 years since the first fax has been received and still, it is a marvel as to how this tool has made office work easier and better.
But of course, nothing is perfect that is why most people have experience bashing the sides or tapping the head of a fax machine in the office.
However, due to the advancement in technology, people might find the fax machine unnecessary and even kids are prone to asking what the heck is a fax machine. Can you believe that only recently, the Smithsonian National Museum has include two fax machines in its historical collection?
If the fax machine is already considered as old school or unkempt, then why do offices still consider them as part of their office tools? According to reports, there is still more than 40 million fax users world-wide and unbelievably, there is still 17 billion faxes sent every year.
Perhaps, the public still finds this contraption easy to use and with the introduction of online faxing like Office Max fax services, it seems like this method of sending out messages will never grow old. This latest development has enabled the fax machine to be connected to a number of computer network in the world and it can send pages after pages of faxes in as fast as 2 seconds.
Why People Can’t Let Go
- It is still considered as a global coverage and widely accepted worldwide, especially among clients or consumers located in remote areas where WiFi and the Internet has slow or unreliable connection.
- It is instantly sent in a hard copy format, making the person with physical proof of the transaction or business.
- Reliability of fax because it can confirm the receiver and the sender that a fax has been received at this exact time by this exact person. Email may do this as well but you may opt not to show that you have received and read the email.
- There is no spam folder especially from people who are not part of your list.
- As business owner, you must be aware that there are still people who do not know how to operate an email or use the Internet.
- Strongest advantage of sending fax is, as it is a physical contract, it becomes immediately legally binding.
- The lesser invasion of privacy and security, especially to avoid getting hacked and phishing.
- Sending faxes allow the sender to know that his fax will be prioritize as soon as it is sent over because people will not be able to easily delete or discard the mail or email.
Death and Faxes Sent are the Only Certain Things in This World
As these advantages will not be changed by faxing anytime soon, it is safe to say that although fax is already 50 years old, people will still find comfort that should the Internet breaks down, they have the old, reliable fax machine to send business notes and reports in no time. It may not be as similar as the use of the old contraption but due to faxing online, it will certainly remain as long as humans and offices find them useful.
