How to Establish Professionalism as a Female Model Photographer

The sensuality that is expressed by female models in the pages of fashion magazines and large billboards are the products of the chemistry between the model and the photographer. Beyond the mastery of photography tricks and techniques, the photographer should have the ability to create an atmosphere of passionate objectivity to allow the model to freely express her female sensuality as if she was alone in her room. Photos can print your photos at Costo Photo. A professional photographer can only do this if he follows a specific code of ethics. If you are a professional photographer or an aspiring one, here is a list of “don’ts” in professional photography.
Don’t Show any Signs of Attraction
A female model is only able to express her female sensuality on front of the photographer because she feels secured that the photographer is looking at her objectively without any physical attraction. It is only in this atmosphere can a woman see the artistry in what she is doing and be free from self-consciousness. So, don’t ask her for a date. Maintain eye contact when talking with her. And, never show any signs of ogling on any of her body parts.
Don’t be Gender-Specific
One of the best ways to prove that you are a professional is to show that you can work with both male and female models. Establishing yourself as gender-specific photographer with an all-female portfolio to show can create the impression of attraction to the female body and this will be very uncomfortable for the female model. She will be more comfortable if you can show a portfolio containing both female and male models because by doing that, you are suggesting that you are a professional photographer, an artist that has deep appreciation for the human body and human sensuality.
Don’t Touch your Subject
Instead of touching your model to direct her to the desired pose, demonstrate what you want. By breaking off from your male masculinity to strike a female pose, you are implying that you are temporarily gender-free at that moment which will further rule out any doubts of attraction and ogling.
Don’t Show Signs of Disrespect or Create the Feeling that you are the Boss
To make a female model feel comfortable in what she is doing, she has to feel more than just a sexy and attractive woman but an artist and artists are treated with respect. Now, you are an artist too and that transform your relationship to that of colleagues. Therefore, the tenor and mood of your communication and relationship should be characterized by mutual respect.
Don’t Start the Photo Shoot without a Verbal Run through of What’s Going to Happen
Finally, to get the most out of the photo shoot, you have to treat the session as a formal and professional activity and the best way to set that tone is to start off with a brief run-through of what’s going to happen so both artists; the photographer and model, can work towards the same objectives.
Part of the artistry of being a professional photographer is the ability to project the proper impression. In the end, it doesn’t really matter what you feel inside; it is how your model sees you.
