Personalized Postcards

When on a vacation, sending a postcard is one of the most thoughtful gestures anyone can send to their loved ones. Postcards are one of the things that will say that you are remembered.
The components of a postcard are the following items; a photo of an iconic place or scenery, the text at the corners identifying that place or scenery, the foreign stamp at the back and the special hand written dedication.
What makes a postcard different from an ordinary picture are the professional photography and the very simple text at one corner that states the details of the location.
With today’s high resolution cameras that are already incorporated in cellular phones and Photoshop or Publisher programs on the computer; all of these can be done on your own.
A postcard will have more meaning if you take the photo yourself.
In case you and your wife are on your first long road trip in your RV to visit the great National Parks one by one, here are the advantages of sending your own personal postcards to your kids.
1. More Personal
More than the actual spectacle of the Grand Canyon or the Niagara Falls, your kids will want to see you so, why not take a selfie with the Grand Canyon as your background.
If you want to put the location anywhere in the photo, you can always just type it in using Publisher or Photoshop before having them printed.
To write your messages, you can always buy a pen that can be used to write on the glossy surfaces. Those pens don’t really cost that much and can be bought in most school supply stores.
2. Cheaper
When you buy a postcard, part of the cost goes to the royalties being paid to the professional photographer who took the shot plus of course, the profit margin for everyone else along the marketing line.
You don’t need to pay for these extras because with today’s cell phones and cameras, everyone whose hands don’t shake too much can produce quality photos. Most of the cell phones already have hi-tech cameras that can allow you to take professional looking photos without the need for manual adjustments.
3. Cherished Moment
Including your images in the photo meant for a postcard will make that piece of photography more valuable than any other postcard in the world. It is a part of your history, one of your most cherished moments that is not only perfect to send to loved ones, but a bit of your life that should be included in your own personal photo album.
In today’s world of DIY’s people are already capable of making their own personalized postcards with the use of their cell phones or compact cameras.
For printing solutions, there are always printing shops like FedEx/Kinkos Photo shop all over America. You can just go to these shops and print a couple of copies on a 4-inch by 6-inch photo paper, buy a local stamp, write a short message and mail to your loved ones.
